Looking for tips on how to create container gardens? This article contains 10 tips for creating colorful and gorgeous container gardens features two tips from Thistle. Looking for great inspiration pictures - all photos are from Thistle:
Tip Number Two - Branch Out: When choosing plants, make sure that you have a variety of leaf (and flower) shapes and sizes. “If the leaves and flowers are all the same size, the container won’t have any visual impact.” says Susan Nock of Thistle by Susan Nock Garden Design in Wellesley. “But when you have a mix of large, small and grasslike leaves, the arrangement becomes visually pleasing. The variety adds rhythm and interest.
Tip Number Nine - Weave in Color: When planning which [color] shades to use, take cues from the surrounding colors. For example, your home or the other shades in your garden. “Do you have blue hydrangeas?” Asks Nock. “Then add a pop of blue to the continuer. Do you have a red front door? Then add some red. This way the container becomes an integral part of your landscape.”
